Today I pulled out the stock 320gb hard drive in the mini and swapped it for a 30gb OCZ Vertex SSD. Why give up all that extra space? For the extra speed. Opening apps is almost instantaneous. And since it’s used as an HTPC, most of the media is access of the Drobo so all I need room for the is OS and apps.

This video was a huge help: Mac mini (Early 2009) Hard Drive Upgrade

The Known Universe

I wish schools would to teach an understanding of ‘scale’ to students. What does it mean that there are 6.7 billion people in the world? That modern humans have been on the Earth for about 200,000 years? And that the big bang happened over 13 billion years ago? This would be a good video to go with it.

Nobody got fired over 9/11, but I bet with Obama heads will roll.
Wife loved Avatar despite hating the trailer. 2nd time was great for me, too. Normal 3d actually seemed clearer than IMAX 3d.
Taking wifey to Avatar. Haven’t paid to see a flick twice in forever. I figure I owe Hollywood at least this much.
