I’m so proud of our kitties. Not only have they seamlessly transitioned to using the new toilets since the move (not a single poop-mergency), but they’re using their backyard privileges very responsibly.

The first few times we let them in the backyard, we intensely supervised them. That is, we hovered over them, ready to give the smack-down should they even think about jumping the fence.

But then we talked it over and realized there’s no way we could constantly guard against it. So we decided to just let them do as they please.

So they do hop the fence and do who-knows-what in all the neighbors yards. We have a cat door in the back room, which they love to run in and out of all day long. You can tell they really enjoy their newfound freedom.

But at the end of a long day playing outside, they always come home at night. And they sleep soundly through the night, to make sure they’ve got enough energy to play all day tomorrow.
