movin to the ‘burbs
well, it’s a done deal. we’s movin’ to the burbs! not buying just yet – we’re enjoying watching home prices in the bay area deflate to levels where normal people can afford to buy. our picturesque new home is a 3BR/2BA single family house in San Mateo (near SFO) with a backyard, hardwood floors, garage, and a giant additional sunroom in the back.
why move?
- we’re saving 14% off our current rent
- the weather! summertime will mean summertime weather
- we’ll have a yard / garden
- 50% closer to my job (and also near Caltrain)
- better school system
- large asian community / great food
- people aren’t being shot right outside our doorstep / no homeless people smoking crack in our alley / don’t need to evade dog/human shit on the sidewalk
