well, it’s a done deal. we’s movin’ to the burbs! not buying just yet – we’re enjoying watching home prices in the bay area deflate to levels where normal people can afford to buy. our picturesque new home is a 3BR/2BA single family house in San Mateo (near SFO) with a backyard, hardwood floors, garage, and a giant additional sunroom in the back.

why move?

• we’re saving 14% off our current rent
• the weather! summertime will mean summertime weather
• we’ll have a yard / garden
• 50% closer to my job (and also near Caltrain)
• better school system
• large asian community / great food
• people aren’t being shot right outside our doorstep / no homeless people smoking crack in our alley / don’t need to evade dog/human shit on the sidewalk

tonight we saw star wars: live on stage at the dark room theater in the mission. it was good…funny, but not exactly hilarious. for the most part it stuck exactly to the movie dialog, with some additional dramatic flair, and a few punch lines thrown in here & there.
