iTunes Store is now the #2 retailer of music in the US, surpassing Best Buy (but still behind Wal-mart). the numbers reflect both physical sales (CD) and digital downloads. more fun facts:

• iTunes first cracked the top 10 retailer list in Nov ‘05
• it took 8 mos from passing Amazon (#3) to pass Best Buy (#2)
• there are 50M registered users
• 20M songs were sold on Christmas day
• 48 percent of US teens did not purchase a single CD in 2007, compared to 38 percent in 2006
• iTunes Store is still less than 5 yrs old
