the techie crowd is abuzz about how the macbook air is missing this and that feature, and how too much was sacrificed in the name of thinness (MacBook Air recommendation: 10 reasons to wait – computerworld). they’re missing the point. normal people don’t care that the battery is sealed, that you can’t upgrade the harddrive or memory, or that it doesn’t have firewire or pc-card slots. it’s pretty safe to say that the pc-world generally doesn’t get elegance and minimalism in technology. technology that draws reactions like this:
