Mac Book Pro
i broke down and ordered a MacBook Pro, Apple’s first Intel-based laptop. it’ll replace my 2 desktop systems (Dell Dimension 8400 and Apple Power Mac G5)…turning about 60 lbs worth of computer turned into 5.6 lbs.
unfortunately, it doesn’t ship for another *4* weeks.

i had as fun a birthday party as one could hope for. greg was there, a close high school buddy that’d gone missing since soon after graduation. other high school friends were there to reminisce - paul, chris, and rob. dr. jon flew out from SF. the venerable voice of davestar was present. the reunion gang was there - ali, faith, lucy, my bro. from amo’s side: upshur & bj, jonah & mike, matt & marcy. there was ching & anthony. and of course, my lovely lovie amo.

shit. that was fast. or was it? i guess if i started over from 0, it’d take a helluva long time to get here.
i’m starting to realize how quickly ‘the present’ becomes ‘the past’. wasn’t i just in puerto rico? at burning man? living in SF? in high school?
and now i’m half way to 70. lately i’ve been realizing that people around me that i consider ‘adults’ are actually my age…or worse, younger.
i suppose it’s time to start gettin on with Act 2. i’m looking forward to it, but is it really here already?

last week was howard’s first on sirius satellite radio. it’s pretty great. not that they’re cursing up a storm or anything…they’re just free to speak like adults and no longer have to worry about dumbing down the conversation to appease uptight conservatives.
anyways, the highlight of the week was clearly George Takei (Sulu from Star Trek), who was the guest announcer. George came out of the closet a few weeks ago, and he fit in so well with the gang and had so much fun, by the end of the week everyone was clamoring to make him permanent on the show. it was hilarious how he and Artie got along so well, the ultimate odd couple. =)
updated homepage (uninteresting.org) using iweb
iweb (part of ilife ‘06) is a fun little web page layout tool. sort of like microsoft frontpage, but easier to use and with much better layouts.
