hero (ying xiong) is one kickass flick. i dug it almost as much, if not more, than crouching tiger. it’s probably the most beautifully shot movie i’ve ever seen. it came out in asia back in ‘02, but miramax has held up the US release while it fiddles with things to make it more appealing to the US market. it’s slated for an Aug release as of now…trailers are being shown before Kill Bill Vol. 2, with an annoying “quentin tarantino presents…” banner. annoying because q.t. had nothing to do with the movie.

the parties this weekend were tight – great dj sets by danny tenaglia @ arc and fatboy slim @ centrofly…but, all in all, i have to say it wasn’t really worth the lack of sleep, loads of cash spent, and overall unhealthiness of the weekend. i don’t want to get back into the party mentality. i think i got caught up in the fact that my apt is finally furnished and the weather was nice…not to mention the hype of these two parties. anyways, i’m gonna lay low for a while. eat healthy, go to the gym. try to enjoy some of the daylight hours of the weekend.

i was in aruba a year ago today. seems like a lifetime ago…
