cable modem service was installed in my apartment today. i feel…complete.
i downloaded love actually, a movie i’d heard good things about. the ensemble cast is great, as is the story. there’s even a precocious little kid who’s perfect - precocious little kids in typical hollywood movies usually make me puke. hugh grant is also really good. i’m a fan of his ever since about a boy.
the FCC is running amok. if you give a shit, go to stopfcc.com and sign the online petition.
it’s a nice shiny day in nyc.
i worked out during my lunch break for the first time, and it turns out to be uber-convenient. the NYSC at 23rd/park is really nice, too. for lunch i walked into Pax foods (overpriced salads & sandwiches), but the yuppiness of the place was a turnoff. crowded, people huddled over their big fat $9 salads, yapping into their cell phones. instead i went to the deli and got a container of tuna salad, tofu, and chicken breast for $5. good choice.
two good things happened with the apartment over the weekend. first, i found a small dresser on the sidewalk and brought it home. i think it’s ikea, and it was falling apart…almost as if they started to put it together, then gave up and tossed it. i gave it a bit o’ TLC and now it’s like new, though it needs a paint job- it’s blonde wood (well, particle board made to look like blonde wood). and second, i got the perfect computer desk for my bedroom. as The Dude would say, “it really ties the room together.”
i came to Starbucks at 11am this morning (Saturday) to hammer out something i gotta do for work. now it’s 12:30 and i’m still fucking around online. shit, shit, shit.
i love blink 182.
so read my book
a short story
with a boring ending
about a lonely guy
ok, i’m gonna start working…..NOW
