it’s campin time! this weekend a group of 20 or so are takin the ferry to catalina, then kayaking to a remote camp site and staying the night.

and next week we’re off to burning man!! woohoo!! what is burning man?

it was a Hollywood weekend…

Nacional: trendy, somewhat pretentious, expensive, place to be seen, cheesy hip hop. they only let you in if you have at least as many women as men (lame).

cinespace: bigger, more laid back, 408 kinda crowd, hip hop. like foreign cinema in sf

star shoes: no cover, dark, loungie, lotsa booze flowin’, small dance floor in back. i dug this place.

saturday was one LONG day…

woke up at 5am and ran the Huntington Beach Distance Derby (10 mile run). if you ever want to see a grown man cry, come watch me run 10 miles.

then in the 95 degree afternoon heat, i moved into my new place in redondo beach.

at night, managed to groove a bit @ sugar (santa monica). dj "demi" from the UK was goin off.

if ya haven’t heard, starting Nov.24 all cell carriers have been forced to offer phone number portability (i.e. you can switch carriers and keep the same phone #). the carriers are freaking out b/c they know most of their customers hate their guts and the only reason they haven’t changed plans is b/c they want to keep their phone #’s. now that that’s all about to change, the carriers are starting to change their ways and improve customer satisfaction. what a buncha asswipes.

the guy who shot Alex Gong was cornered, and he killed himself. GOOD.
